Outreach and Collaboration

NRDI is involved in a range of outreach activities in the Gainesville area. We are always looking for opportunities to expand our outreach and collaborate with a diverse range of organizations. 

School visits

We visit elementary, middle and high schools around Gainesville. We typically give a two day presentation where we discuss careers in the natural resource fields followed by a hands-on demonstration with animals. 
Our first school visit this semester will be October 19th at Boulware Springs Charter School!

Community engagement

We are always looking for opportunities to share our passion for natural resources with the larger Gainesville Community. We are currently partnering with the Reichert House to build a nature trail and set up ecological monitoring programs on site. If you have a community program that you'd like us to get involved with, get in touch!

College visits

We have made several visits to Santa Fe college in Gainesville to discuss natural resource departments at UF and opportunities to transfer to UF and get involved in the natural resources. We are looking to expand to visit other colleges as well.
